Types of pimples

As a teenager, I had always been insecure about my acne-prone skin. From mild breakouts to deep cysts, my face was a breeding ground for different types of pimples that would often leave behind unsightly scars and marks. Forehead acne

Blackheads

Firstly, let’s discuss blackheads, the most common form of acne that we all have encountered at some point in our lives. Blackheads, or open comedones, occur when hair follicles on our skin become clogged with oil, dead skin cells, and bacteria. When the pore remains open, the organization of melanin gives the blackhead its dark color.

It’s important to resist the temptation of squeezing blackheads, as it may worsen the condition and cause further irritation.http://Types of pimples

Whiteheads

Whiteheads, on the other hand, are closed comedones and occur when a hair follicle becomes blocked by oil, dead skin cells, and bacteria, resulting in a white or flesh-colored bump on the surface of the skin.

They are more likely to cause inflammation if not treated properly, so it’s best to consult a dermatologist to avoid scarring or other complications.

The third type of acne is papules, small, pink, raised bumps that are formed by bacterial growth and inflammation in the hair follicle. They are considered mild to moderate acne and may appear individually or in clusters.

Unlike blackheads or whiteheads, they do not contain pus, making them less tempting to squeeze, which may aggravate the condition.

Pustules

Next up, we have pustules, the most common form of inflammatory acne.

Picking or popping a pustule may cause the infection to spread and may lead to permanent scarring.

Cysts

Cystic acne, a severe form of acne, occurs when hair follicles become infected with bacteria, resulting in painful, deep-rooted nodules or cysts.

They may cause pain and discomfort and are prone to scarring if not treated immediately.

Cystic acne is a medical condition and requires specialized treatment from a dermatologist.

Lastly, we have nodules, the most severe type of acne. Nodules are formed when hair follicles become infected, resulting in large, inflamed bumps deep in the skin.
