Brush your hair daily
Brushing your hair is essential for a healthy, shiny mane. Regular brushing will help distribute natural oils throughout the strands, improve circulation to the scalp and remove any dirt or buildup. Make sure to use a brush with natural bristles so it won’t cause any breakage.
Limit heat styling
Heat styling tools can be extremely damaging to your hair, causing dryness and breakage. If you do use them, make sure you have a good quality heat protectant product and that you’re not exposing your hair to too much heat.
Getting regular trims every 6-8 weeks will keep your ends from splitting and prevent damage from traveling up the hair shaft. Even if you’re trying to grow out your locks, a trim every now and then can help keep split ends away!
Keep it hydrated
Proper hydration is essential for healthy, shiny hair. Make sure you’re drinking plenty of water and using nourishing hair products such as masks and deep conditioners that are packed with moisture-replenishing ingredients like shea butter and avocado oil.
Protect your hair
The sun can be very damaging to the strands so it’s important to protect them when spending time outdoors. Wear hats or scarves whenever possible, use UV protecting products or choose hairstyles that cover most of your locks to prevent them from drying out or becoming brittle.
